Sacramento Branch Salutes Joe Montero
By Carolyn Walker

Sacramento Branch of the American Fuchsia Society salutes the memory of Joe Montero, Jr. A native of Rocklin, California, he and his wife Diana joined our Branch August 1985 and have been members for 23 years.
We will find it difficult to fill the vacancy he left behind. He was very active in our June plant sales, separating the fuchsia varieties on Fridays, and giving buyers many good tips on how to care for their new plants during the sale.
Joe grew beautiful fuchsias winning awards at our June Shows.
He was also interested in baseball, cycling, and golf.
He travelled to Spain six times with Diana and son John. Joe especially enjoyed cherries and persimmons in season; and was an all around great friend.
