AFS Annual Meeting & Luncheon
October 11

The Annual Meeting has been scheduled for Saturday, October 11, 2008 and is being hosted by the San Jose Branch at their normal monthly meeting site, St. Edwards Episcopal Church, 15040 Union Ave in San Jose. The sandwich and salad luncheon will be from 11:30 a.m. until 3 p.m., followed by our guest speaker, “The Hummingbird Lady”, Emily Evans, president of the Sebastopol branch. There will be many door prizes as well as a chance to vote on the best Fantasy Fuchsia
We hope to be selling calendars, both the one from New Zealand honoring the memory of Ted Sweetman and the one being published by AFS featuring photo’s received from various branches which will of course include some fuchsias. The price for the lunch will be $6 a person and all reservations and checks should be directed to Madalyn Drago, whose address and phone number is listed on page 2 of your bulletin. If you are unable to mail a check, be sure to phone or e-mail your reservation because it is important for us to know how many members and guests are coming so we can prepare enough food. You can pay at the door.
Directions: From the South or East, take Highway 85, Union Ave. off ramp, turn left on Union. Church is on your left, turn in past the church and park behind the church. From the North take the Union Ave. off ramp from Highway 85, stay in the right lane of the left hand turn lane and turn right onto Union and then make an immediate left. Parking is in the rear of the church.
