FUCHSIA LORE SALE
15-16 November 2008 10 AM to 5 PM Saturday & Sunday
22015 Chaparral Lane, Castro Valley, CA

By Charles Gerton

Lucille and Ray Gerton were members of the Southlanders Branch of the American Fuchsia Society for 30 years. They have amassed a large collection of fuchsia lore, including vases, china, etched glass, and collectibles. Since Lucille has passed on, Ray is wishing to sell the collection. There are several high-end art glass pieces, and several very nice framed antique botanical prints and other framed fuchsia prints.

There is also an emerald green Russian glass vase featuring hand-painted fuchsias which has a twin in the Juneau, Alaska museum. There is a metal-based lamp (not antique) with two antique glass globes featuring green fuchsia silhouettes and an antique oil lamp with an etched pink glass globe base and a clear etched glass top. There are decorative boxes, a painted pottery spittoon, and an etched amethyst glass perfume bottle. There are music boxes, teapots, a complete china tea set, and dozens of cup and saucer sets. If anyone would like to view most of the items, they can contact Charles Gerton, their son, at cgerton@comcast.net and he can link you to the Shutterfly site with pictures.
