Fuchsia Collectibles Show

By Elsie Sydnor

San Jose Branch is sponsoring The Collectibles Show again this year because we have found some new fuchsia items that we want to show you! We also want to see what everyone else has, so let’ s get together for a day of sharing and showing. New categories are Wood Items, Light Sources, Table Linens, Photographs, (matted and framed,) and Metal Items. Again we will ask attendees to vote on what they like best in each category. Special gifts will be awarded to the Best of Show and Bob Castro Collection categories.
Fuchsias are found on cards, gift bags, pottery, china, fabric, tiles, clothing, and antiques, almost anything you can imagine. It is a fun hobby that gives us another way to enjoy the beauty of fuchsias.
In early January Show schedules and application forms will be sent to all Branch Presidents and all past participants. If anyone wants to receive an application, just contact Elsie Sydnor at (408) 257-0752 or email her at her new email address alsydnor@mac.com (NOTE-this is a new address.)
There comes a time when we realize that our collections are out of bounds! We can help you with that problem, too. Sale tables are available for a donation to the raffle table and if your prices are reasonable and the lore pieces are in good condition, sales should be brisk. You know that collectors are always happy to find something they do not have.
So all collectors, sellers, buyers and browsers need to mark the date on a new 2008 calendar and plan to attend the ONLY fuchsia lore show in California!
