RON & DEBBIE MONNIER

In 1992 Ron and I decided to buy a greenhouse, both being avid gardeners, at a garage sale for $50.00 and start a new “hobby”, collecting and growing fuchsias. By early 1993 the “hobby” had grown too large so we started selling fuchsias to make room in the greenhouse. We called our fledgling nursery “Monnier’s Fuchsias”. As demand for our fuchsias grew, we had to find a larger place to grow them. In 1998 we moved to a larger property and thus began “Monnier’s Country Gardens”. We had a vision and are working to this day to fulfill that vision. We wanted to incorporate growing fuchsia with gardening and with the gardens we have established we are slowing reaching that goal. In 2006 we had more than 2/3 acre of greenhouse growing area and over 2 acres of garden area. We are continually expanding. We started with 2 varieties in 1992 and now have collected about 1200 different varieties and continue to collect more every year. We specialize in unique and unusual varieties and carry one of the largest selections of upright and perennial (hardy) fuchsia you will find anywhere.
